Feeling Resistance to Pause?
Unease of Pause
Do you feel resistance to Pause? To slow down? To allowing there to be space or quiet in your day, your calendar, your life?
If so, no shame. Trust me, I have been there.
I know the resistance well. And let’s be honest, it was really unease and fear more than anything.
I certainly didn’t want to contend with any of the thoughts, internal whispers (yells!), and truths that would come in by creating space or slowing down. I’d rather keep busy than reveal weakness, imperfection, or fear.
It was easier to avoid discomfort and unease and continue operating as I was in my known ‘comfort’ zone.
Floating gracefully on the surface and paddling like mad underwater to stay afloat.
Feeling me?
I was avoiding confrontation with the unknown. I was a master at it.
The truth is that the Pause is powerful.
It’s the discomfort, the shadows it invites in, and the unease that ultimately unlocks so much more. It takes courage and a willingness to drop everything and rebuild from a new place. A place of awareness and choice.
The Pause is the gateway.
Pause creates the opportunity for you to choose differently, to decide how you want to show up, to invite a bit of space to catch your breath and settle your nervous system.
From there you begin to design your life from a place of awareness and choice.
Step one is as simple as stopping to smell the roses. Seriously, slow down enough to pause, breathe in their scent, and notice the moment. Don’t be afraid of the thorns.
Find Your Pause.
