Set Your Pace

What’s your pace?

Most Wednesday mornings you’ll find me running laps around a local track. It’s not my favorite type of workout yet it’s the perfect example and reminder of pace.

The track is equal parts inspiring, humbling, and a practice of releasing self judgment.

It’s all about pace - your own pace.

There are folks speeding past me at mind blowing paces and there are others walking and running at a much slower pace.

I can try to go with the speedsters and exhaust and burn myself out while being frustrated that I can’t keep up.

I can swing the other way towards slowness and wind up annoyed that it wasn’t much of a workout.

Either way, these are someone else’s workout and pace, not mine.

Or… I can choose my pace using awareness to determine effort, intensity, and exertion of my own.

I can use the energy and inspiration of others being out there to challenge myself and release any judgment. That’s what makes the experience fun.

Each time might be different but it’s always my own awareness and choice.

How?

Where we always begin, Pause.

When you Pause you become Present. Presence unlocks and opens the door to Awareness. When you invite in awareness you can then move into Choice. Now, you’re empowered to choose and design your Experience.

This is your pace, not that of someone else.

Catch that?
