Defining & Redefining Success
What does success mean to you?
I love this question for its many layers…
It’s an incredible window into what motivates people, how they view themselves, and their values. It’s also the opportunity for internal curiosity to ensure that you are defining success for you and by you, not others.
For me the answer is very short and clear. And I’ll tell you that this was definitely not always my version of success, but at my core I now know this to be true and possible…
Success is living a life of my design.
It’s not about ‘control’ and a vice grip on everything around me. Rather, it’s about presence, awareness, and choice that allow me to design my life experience.
This is PACE, my pace.
When you live a life of your design you set your pace and create experiences you desire through presence, awareness, choice, and of course Pause.
Everything isn’t rainbows and unicorns but I ultimately know that I am the designer. I create my experience by how I choose to show up [or not].
It’s also not solitary in a vacuum, I impact others and others me. Yet through awareness I can consciously choose how I show up for myself and others.
Life Design isn’t a one time thing, it’s on going and ever evolving. It comes from being an active participant in life and focusing on your pace.
It’s defining and re-defining your values.
It’s setting, upholding, and adjusting boundaries.
It’s bringing awareness to your breath, your body, your emotions, and how you speak to yourself.
It’s creating space literally and figuratively in your world.
It’s choosing how you show up in each and every moment.
And guess what, it starts where everything begins, the Pause.
I invite you to Find Pause, take a few breaths, and settle into this moment. When you’re ready, get honest, really honest, with yourself about where you currently are, how you show up, and where and how you desire to be.
Dip your toes into the waters of presence and awareness.
What’s success to you?
